    Rehearsal Schedule and Line Deadlines
Rehearsal schedule and line deadlines for The Greek Olympiaganza by Don Zolidis (Show dates: May 9, 10, and 11):

    Rehearsals will be held:

    Mondays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
(due to a major conflict for several cast members)

    Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    and

    Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Normally, we will not rehearse on Wednesdays (we only could until five p.m.), Fridays, or call special Saturday sessions unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. If you accomplish what needs to be done and do it well on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, you get the rest of the week off as a reward. J However, be aware that on show week we WILL practice WEDNESDAY afternoon, because we have a show on THURSDAY during the day for the PHS student body. Also, be aware that rehearsals may run a little later on show week. If so, I will try to see that parents receive notification ahead of time.

Line memorization deadlines are as follows:

Pages 7-29 must be memorized by Thursday, April 11th.

Pages 30-53 must be memorized by Tuesday, April 16th.

Pages 54-75 must be memorized by Tuesday, April 23rd.

Pages 76-99 must be memorized by Tuesday, April 30th.

All cast members must be COMPLETELY OFF BOOK BY WEDNESDAY, MAY 1ST. We need the last week and a half to tighten up our run time.

Okay...add to that equation the first weekend of May. If we did that, then we could start after spring break.

I got a postcard from the dude that wrote the Austen adaptations today. That was interesting.

I have one more for you to look at. I have ordered two plays by Zolidis. One is Greek Mythology. The other...well...it involves Zombies ... and a mouse... from what I can tell... and a little play called Hamlet.

Ladies and gents: The Hamlet Thrill-ma-maggedon:

P.S. I ordered scripts for this one and the Greek, so we can decide and get going right away.

Plays to look at as possible choices
    EVERYONE:

I have the script for Kindergarten in my hands. It is THICK, and it has monologues..some up to three pages long. I suggest we consider doing the Greek Olympiganza even though it is similar to the old plays, because the lines will be shorter and easier to memorize. We need to meet Thursday to discuss what our plan of attack is. I have to get production dates approved by the administration....we need to discuss a few things BEFORE I do that.

Meet in my room after school this Thursday (Feb. 21) if we have school. If not, let's meet Friday with whoever can be there. Time is running out!

We have two weekends as possibilities at this point, in my mind, the last one in March and the first one in April.

    Thing2_PHS and Everyone Else

As of now my vote is for Kindergarten. I am aware that there were some other things posted and shared but due to the lack of communication I believe we need to get a show on the road asap! As far as I know as of now Kindergarten has the appropriate cast size, do-able language, and all together a good outlook so this being said Kindergarten has my vote. Lets get the ball rolling :)

I'm not sure about others, but I'm ready to get this on a roll so I know which play I want to do. I suggest we do Kindergarden. We need to start giving opinions so that is my suggestion.

Plays to look at as possible choices
Okay, so I've been thinking, and I don't know if this is doable, but I thought I would mention it for a couple of reasons. This year marks the 200th anniversary of the first printing of Pride & Prejudice, and it's one of Mrs. Crittenden's favorites. It scares me for some of the same reasons Emma does. Period piece, period costumes, and accents, plus the cast size...I have Kindergarten. Working on reading it. Emma isn't here yet.

    Meeting time?
I have been sick, so I know I've missed the last meeting. I'm trying my best to get better so I can have enough strength for auditions and rehearsals. Saying that, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are good days for me.

    Drama or Comedy?
I'm in agreement with everyone. I definitely do not want to be a one trick pony, but if push comes to shove and we run out of time, we need to be able to put a play together for the following seniors. We desperately want to do a play before graduation, so when it comes down to Drama or Comedy, I think most of us seniors would agree that either or is fine.

Plays to look at as possible choices
As everyone knows, I've been sick lately, so it's been tough to sit down and read the plays. I did, however, have time to read Olypiganza, All I really need to know, and a small part of Emma. In my opinion, I am in love with all three. I do agree with Emily on Greek in some forms. It is just like something we've done. I too want to try something different. Totally in love with Emma. Only thing that concerns me is the language being too difficult for some of the audience to wrap their head around. Other than that, it has my vote. I believe All I Need To know is a good one as well. I'm not sure if I completely agree with the musical version, but if we could get it working, by all means I am up to doing that one. I'm going to be looking on play scripts some more today to see if I can find anything else we might like.
